KZerk_004AI studied Vocal Performance at the Elder Conservatorium of Music in Adelaide and continued with postgraduate studies at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne graduating with first class honours. I later gained my Diploma of Education at The University of Western Australia.

Both in Adelaide and Melbourne I was a choral conductor with the Australian Youth Choir. I also visited schools throughout the metropolitan area giving workshops to large groups of children and assessing their vocal abilities.

I lived and worked in London for many years. I became Director of Junior School Music at The Harrodian School London where I implemented my own pre-school music programme and directed Junior School musicals. At The Harrodian School  I directed the Junior and Middle School Choirs and conducted The Harrodian School Chamber Choir at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales and at London's Royal Albert Hall. I also gave private singing lessons to many Harrodian students.

As a performer I have had numerous opera engagements and toured extensively with a regional UK opera company. My concert engagements include solo appearances at St Martin in the Fields, Kings College Cambridge, London's Southwark Cathedral and was guest soloist in a gala concert in the presence of HRH The Prince of Wales.

When I returned to Australia I taught voice at both PLC and Penrhos College in Perth while working professionally with WA Opera

Now in Sydney I combine a performance career with music teaching commitments at Dobroyd Point Public School and Happy Voices, Music Education. I am also a guest conductor for the Canada Bay Community Choir and
was recently awarded "Canada Bay Arts and Culture Citizen of the Year 2013"
